Here is a great peek into the early careers of several musicians who significantly influenced music for a generation, most notably Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Jimmy McPartland, Bud Freeman, Wingy Manone, Joe Sullivan, and others. These guys would eventually become legends on their own, but for these recordings, they were not much more than a rag-tag studio band playing whatever they could to make a buck.

These recordings were made in 1928 and 1929 and originally issued on Vocalion and Brunswick labels. They are here re-issued as a 4 record album set by Brunswick (album B-1007) circa 1947.

Enjoy!
