Shown here is a 'Royal Blue' wax 78 rpm record by Columbia, label number 2856-D, recorded on Monday, Nov 27, 1933, featuring Benny Goodman’s Orchestra playing 'Your Mother's Son-in-Law' with Billie Holiday vocals and ‘Tappin’ The Barrel’ with Jack Teagarden vocals.

This is an historic pressing, being an original copy of the legendary Billie Holiday’s very first recording! After this recording session, she would not make another recording for 2 more years. Research reveals that only 300 of these were sold.

Needless to say, it is a greatly sought-after recording by Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday, and/or blue-wax collectors. One of these only comes up for sale every year or two and they are eagerly snatched up by the long line of collectors waiting to get their own copy.

As far as grading this particular disc, I would suggest you look at the photos and watch and listen to it on YouTube (links under pictures). I think it is in pretty good condition. The recordings have not been 'enhanced', what you hear is what it is.
